Example notes. Replace them with your experience of the certification you are preparing for.
Study plan
Split preparation into blocks with a clear goal for each week:
- Fundamentals: networking, Linux, and Windows.
- Enumerating and exploiting common services.
- Privilege escalation on Linux and Windows.
- Lab practice and mock exams.
Methodology
A checklist keeps you from skipping steps under time pressure:
[ ] Full port scan (TCP and top 100 UDP)
[ ] Enumerate every service
[ ] Look for vulnerable versions
[ ] Initial access documented with screenshots
[ ] Local enumeration and escalation
[ ] Evidence for the report
During the exam
- Budget your time and set a limit before switching machines.
- Take screenshots of each step as you go, not at the end.
- Rest: eating and sleeping are part of the plan too.
The report
Write the report as you progress. Each finding should include a description, impact, steps to reproduce, and recommendations.
